Halloween Fun
Today was Halloween fun at Headway House. It’s hard to sum up the banter and silliness that can take place on our Friday social drop ins – you say ‘plenty of tea, biscuits and activities for brain injury survivors’ and you can’t help but think of a sort of bland gathering of people with carers bustling about making coffee.
In reality, our drop ins are wicked. We have the boys in the corner cracking inappropriate jokes next to a lively hub of creative activity coming from our card making team while the Lieutenant Governor’s dog roams the room begging for treats. At one point we even had a visit from a pony for goodness sake. One of our family members trains horses close to Headway House and thought he’d pop up with one of his herd.
A small pumpkin did the round as it posed for ridiculous photos with our members, amidst cries of: ‘we’re disabled! You can’t make fun of us like that!’ said totally in jest.
Brain injury is no joke, but at the same time, you’ve got to laugh eh?
