Hats for Headway 2015
It’s that time of year again –Hats for Headway – when our members, volunteers, staff and supporters don headgear ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous in order to raise awareness of brain injury. As the finale of Brain Injury Awareness Week, our celebrations were held at La Grande Mare Hotel where we enjoyed afternoon tea served at the unusual hour of 10am.
As tradition dictates, the only dress code requirement was a hat. Almost forty of us congregated wearing Indian headdresses, Liberation themed bowlers, tartan berets with red hair attached, large and flowery numbers as well as a hat made entirely of pompoms.
We sipped tea and ate delicious cucumber sandwiches as well as a variety of scones, cakes and nibbles provided by La Grande Mare. The festive air of fun that characterises Headway’s gatherings was very much present and we finished the morning with our traditional brain injury quiz.
Thanks to all who attended. We hope you enjoyed the morning as much as we did.
